Click here to view the video tribute.Elsie E. Heise, 79, of Pender, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Brookstone Meadows in Elkhorn, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 6, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Pender, Nebraska. A visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. The visitation will continue after 6:00 P.M. at St. John’s Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. Interment will be in the Holy Cross Catholic Church Cemetery in Bancroft, Nebraska. Elsie was born on October 3, 1929 to James and Helen (Bohaboj) Urbanec. Elsie attended and graduated from Walthill High School. She married Marvin Heise on July 29, 1950. To this union thirteen children were born. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bancroft, where Marvin and Elsie won the Spirit of Holy Cross Award. Elsie was remembered by her family as being a loving, caring, unselfish person. She loved being with her family and made sure there was a family garden every summer. Spending the winter in Texas was a cherished part of her life. She was a huge sports fan and could always be found in the stands supporting her children and grandchildren.She is survived by her husband Marvin; seven sons and five daughters. The children include: Karen Todaro of Springfield, Virginia; Clifford and wife Vickie of Bancroft; Ivan of Bancroft; Brad and wife Teresa of Bancroft; Diane Heise of Silversprings, Maryland; Mark of Oakland; Danny and wife Becky of Annandale, Virginia; Rodney and wife Rhonda of Pender; Debbie Wortman and husband Tim of Omaha; Troy of Lincoln; Angie Knudsen and Husband Dan of Omaha; and Kim Heise of Omaha; 22 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a brother Donny Urbanec of Walthill.Elsie was preceded in death by a son Russell, her parents, her brothers: Jimmy, Fred, Ernie, Raymond and Eddie; and a sister Helen.
