Karlyne Ann Tremayne, 84, of Walthill, Nebraska passed away Sunday, May 10, 2015 at Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Walthill, NE; with Pastor Steven Breazier officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 12, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Walthill, NE. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.
Karlyne was born December 5, 1930 to Carl and Wilma (Pipal) Burmeister in rural Thurston, NE. She graduated from Thurston High School and Business College in Omaha, NE. She married Fred Tremayne on May 17, 1952 at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Omaha, NE. From this union two sons were born, Gene and Dennis.
Karlyne was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Birthday Club, Woman of Faith, Do-A-Lot-Club, and an active member of The Walthill Rodeo Committee for many years. She was active on the First United Methodist Church Council as the membership communication and history personal; she wrote and printed the church newsletter and bulletin for many years. She was a very dedicated caretaker of her church. In her free time, Karlyne enjoyed crocheting and other needle work; making afghans, doilies, and tea towels. She enjoyed being at the Senior Center and often helped deliver meals. Karlyne loved animals, especially her cats and dogs. Her grandchildren will always remember her “famous” chocolate chip cookies. Karlyne was interested in genealogy spending many hours researching her family’s history.
She is survived by her son, Dennis “Jake” (Sandy) Tremayne of Walthill, NE; grandchildren, Josh (Sally) Tremayne of Bancroft, NE, Jesse Tremayne (Casey Conner) of Walthill, NE; great grandchildren, Ross, Reed, Ryan, and Rhett; brothers-in-laws, Larry Tremayne, Donald (Sharon) Tremayne of Walthill, NE, sister-in-law, Carolyn Sharp of Benton, IL and her nieces and nephews; Rick (Diana) Sharp, Tammy Mohnson, Danny Tremayne, and Randy (Lori) Tremayne, and great-nieces and nephews.
Karlyne is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Gene Tremayne; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Richard and Darlene Sharp.
