Click here to view the memorial video.Eldon A. Abendroth, 85, of Bancroft, Nebraska passed away on Monday, February 9, 2009 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 14, at 10:30 a.m.at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Nebraska with the Rev. Philip Hale officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft. Interment will be in the Bancroft Cemetery. Eldon was born on June 13, 1923 on a farm near Bancroft, Nebraska, the son of August and Rosa Mae (Jahnke) Abendroth. He was baptized on August 12, 1923 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft, Ne, and confirmed on May 28, 1939. His confirmation verse was Mathew 24:13 “He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.” He attended rural District School #78. He married Delores Brehmer on April 30, 1944 at St. John’s Lutheran Church near Pender, NE. The couple lived on the farm northwest of Bancroft until moving into Bancroft in 1982. Delores passed away on October 16, 2007. Eldon is survived by his son Larry Abendroth and his wife Diane of Lincoln, NE, a grandson Brett, and a sister Elaine Beckman of Lincoln, NE. Eldon was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Delores, an infant daughter, Kayleen, sisters Lidabel Russman and Lois Svoboda.
