Delvin Miller

Delvin Lorenz Miller, 91, of Bancroft, NE passed away Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at Colonial Haven in Beemer, NE. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 28, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pender, NE; with Pastor Robert Schilling officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, September 27, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender, with a prayer service starting at 6:00 p.m. Burial will be in the St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home. Delvin was born February 23, 1924 in Bancroft, NE to Peter and Edna (Paulsen) Miller. He was baptized March 16, 1924 and confirmed April 10, 1938 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bancroft, NE. He attended Zion School. Delvin was united in marriage to Shirley Mae Metzger on April 9, 1950. The couple had four children. They later divorced. He enjoyed farming and farmed west of Bancroft all of his adult life. Delvin was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Pender, NE. In his free time, Delvin enjoyed restoring antique tractors, hunting, fishing, bowling, and golfing. Delvin is survived by his son, Randy (Jeanne) Miller of Bancroft, NE; daughters, Janelle (Rod) Witt of Bancroft, NE, Debbi Miller of South Jordan, UT, Cindy (Faron) Buxton of Wisner, NE; sisters, Bernice Miller of West Point, NE, Orline (Dale) Kindt of Webster, TX; brother, Lloyd (Leora) Miller of Crossville, TN, five grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harlan and Donald; and two sisters, Viola Oswald and Lorna Brehmer.
