Bodie Scott Houfek

Bodie Scott Houfek (Tonjes), 17, of Valley, NE, passed away Monday, October 12, 2015 at his home in Valley, NE. Funeral services will be Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender, NE; Pastor Miles Ruch will be officiating. The visitation will be Friday, October 16, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The burial will be in St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pender. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. Bodie was born February 18, 1998 to Christopher Houfek and Makrae Mielak in Omaha, NE. He was attending Douglas County West High School while taking construction technology classes at Metro Community College in Omaha. Bodie enjoyed playing sports, especially baseball and football, hunting and fishing, and playing video games. He was always helping his friends and hanging out with his buddies. Bodie enjoyed building things, driving, and John Deere tractors. He recently had a fascination with wanting a real life monkey. Bodie is survived by his mom, Makrae (Jason) Mielak of Valley, NE; dad, Chris Houfek of Papillion, NE, brothers, Jersey Houfek of Valley, NE, Koda Mielak of Valley, NE, Kevin LaChapelle of Omaha, NE; sister, Brinkley Mielak of Valley, NE, grandparents, Kevin and Gayle Tonjes of Omaha, NE, Steve and Kay Houfek of Papillion, NE; great grandparents, Marlene Tonjes of Pender, NE, William Bolton of South Sioux City, NE, Emily Houfek of Omaha, NE, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his great grandparents, Lowell Tonjes, Gloria Peterson and Popsie Houfek.
