Rudie L. Polen, 78, of Wakefield, Nebraska died on Monday, March 23, 2009 at her home in Wakefield. A funeral service for Rudie will be held on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 1:00 P.M. at Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home in Wakefield; Pastor Jerome Cloninger from Salem Lutheran Church in Wakefield will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 P.M until 8:00 P.M. at the Bressler ~ Munderloh Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield.
Rudie was born on July 8, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Jean (Taylor) Wilson. Rudie attended and graduated from high school in Omaha. She married Harry Polen on November 11, 1955 in Omaha, Nebraska. They moved to Wakefield in 1973, where Rudie worked for M.G. Waldbaum’s. Rudie later worked at the Wakefield Pool Hall. Harry died on January 5, 2000. In her younger years, she played golf. Rudie also enjoyed watching baseball, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
Rudie is survived by her children: Vicky and husband Dave Anderson from Palm Bay, Florida, John and wife Diane Polen from Holdrege, Nebraska and a son Bill Polen from Wayne, Nebraska; 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister Jean and husband Terry Turner from Sergeant Bluff, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Harry.
