Francis D. Voss, 83, of Emerson, Nebraska died on Sunday, March 6, 2016 at Pender Community Hospital in Pender. Private family graveside services will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is in charge of the arrangements.
Francis was born October 20, 1932 to Louis and Lucille (Eaton) Voss in rural Nacora, NE. Francis attended school in South Sioux City, NE. He served in the Army from 1953-1955 during the Korean War. Francis had a creative mind, he owned and operated Emerson Manufacturing in Pender and designed several different jacks and safety features for trucks and farm equipment. In his spare time he enjoyed traveling and prospecting for gold.
He is survived by his wife, Jeneanne Voss of Emerson, NE; brother, Ted Voss of Sioux City, IA; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Voss of Emerson, NE; and grandsons, Tyler and Travis.
Francis is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Harold Voss; and son, Gregg Voss.
