Click here to view the memorial video.Arthur “Art” Reich, 85, of Pender, Nebraska passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 at the West Point Living Center in West Point, Nebraska. Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, June 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender, with the Rev. Donald Olson officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. Interment will be in the St. Mark’s Lutheran Church Cemetery in Pender. Art was born on June 16, 1923 in rural Cuming County, Nebraska the son of Willhelm and Anna Reich. He married Georgia Bolln on July 20, 1958 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. Georgia died on August 22, 1997. He drove truck his entire working career, but was forced to retire in 1983 due to health. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, and was the only one they would let “Fix their toys” when they were broken. His greatest joy was at the birth of his first great grandchild. Art is survived by children: Vanessa Messerly of Norfolk, NE; Roger Reich and his wife Monica of Minot, ND; Ann Kollars and her husband Doug of Norfolk; Bill Reich and spouse Brian Pierick of Anthon, IA; Craig Reich and his wife Carrie of Grain Valley, MO; as well as 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Art was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Georgia, a son-in-law Ron Messerly, three brothers and one sister.
