Walter Eugene Bolln, 75, of Decatur, NE died on Sunday, June 26, 2016 at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Memorial services for Walt will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender; Pastor Miles Ruch will be officiating. A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Walt was born on June 4, 1941 in Pender, NE, the son of George and Marie (Heineman) Bolln. On May 2, 1975, Walt was married to Edna Billings at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender. Walt worked at Kinning and Reil Heating and Plumbing and for Logan Valley Manufacturing in Pender. After his retirement Walt was a member of the Decatur Town Board and worked for the Decatur toll bridge. Walt was handy with heating, plumbing and electrical. He enjoyed playing cards during the holidays, woodworking, gardening, fishing and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed time spent with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Walt is survived by his wife, Edna of Decatur, NE; son, Donald Surratt of Withville, VA; daughters, Laura Rumsey of Salem, VA and Elizabeth Ann (Michael) Stark of Omaha, NE, two grandchildren: Maranda Baker and Mikayla Mahler of Omaha; and three great grandchildren: Gaige Mahler, Addi Mahler and Ellie Mahler. He is also survived by a brother Pete H.P. Bolln of Pender, NE and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Jim Bolln and sisters, Georgia Reich and Mary Fillipi.
