Joe D. Hale, 57, of Emerson, NE passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 in Atwood, KS. Funeral services for Joe will be held on Monday, July 11, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; Pastor Gretchen Ritola and Vicar Rebecca Truland will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is in charge of the arrangements. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.
Joe was born on March 3, 1959 in Sioux City, IA, the son of Lloyd and Maxine (Weaver) Hale. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing the guitar and Nebraska Football. Most of all he loved visiting with his friends and caring for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his son, Denny and special friend Michelle Forbes of Wakefield, NE; special friend Anna and her children and her grandchildren; his grandchildren, Miranda, Bradyn, Aleigha, Sarah and Aubri; two brothers, Tony (Donna) Hale of Fremont, NE and twin brother, Jack Hale of Wilbur, NE; sisters, Connie Woten of Sloan, IA and Linda (Gil) Frey of Cedar Bluffs, NE, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Maxine Hale; brother, Denny Hale; and his grandparents.
