Terry Wingett

Terry Wingett, 72, of Thurston, NE died on Thursday, August 11, 2016 at his home. Funeral services for Terry will be held on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE with Pastor Steven Breazier officiating. The visitation will be held on Monday morning beginning at 9:30 a.m. and will run until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery of Pender. Following the burial there will be a luncheon at the Thurston Legion Hall in Thurston, NE. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Pender is in charge of the arrangements. Terry was born in Pender, NE on July 17, 1944, the son of Clarence and Uldeen (Larson) Wingett. He attended and graduated from Thurston High School in 1962. On February 26, 1967, he was united in marriage to Lorna Schmeckpeper in Pender, NE. The couple lived in Thurston where Terry worked for the Grain Elevator for 28 years and for 6 years at Blue Jet Manufacturing in Thurston until his health forced him to retire. Terry enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed the time he spent playing cards and visiting with his friends. Most of all he loved his family. He is survived by his wife Lorna of Thurston, NE; son Clancy Wingett of Thurston, NE; granddaughter Alexis Wingett; a sister Suzann Meierdierks of Lincoln, NE and brother Larry (Barb) Wingett of Pender, NE. He was preceded in death by his parents and a granddaughter Alexsaundra Wingett.
