Boeckenhauer - Spangler, 23, of Wakefield, Nebraska died on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at her home near Wakefield following a courageous battle with cancer. The funeral for Mindy will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 at 10:30 A.M. at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne; Pastor Kim Stover will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the church in Wayne. The family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. with a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M. on Monday evening. Burial will follow the lunch at 1:30 at the Wakefield Cemetery in Wakefield, Nebraska. A memorial fund in Mindy’s name has been established at First National Bank of Wayne. Mindy was born on June 3, 1986 in Wakefield, Nebraska, the daughter of Tim and Shirlene (Kardell) Boeckenhauer. Mindy attended and graduated from Wakefield High School in 2004. She then attended Wayne State College in Wayne, Nebraska. On August 9, 2008, Mindy was united in marriage to Andrew Spangler at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Wayne. Mindy was active in Wakefield Band, as well as being a member of Family and Consumer Science for many years. She was also a longtime member of 4-H, where she showed horses and dogs. Mindy was also a three year member of the Masonic Band and sang with the school and church choirs and was a member of the 7 Praise Team. Mindy was also involved with the church youth group and participated in the church mission trips. She also had a love for animals, especially her dog Emma. Mindy touched many lives and will be missed by all who knew her.Mindy is survived by her husband Andrew and son Carter of Wakefield, her father Tim of Wakefield, a sister and her husband Leslie and Brian Johnson of Wayne, a brother Daniel Boeckenhauer of Annapolis, Maryland, her grandmother Donna Boeckenhauer of Wakefield, two nephews Brett and Tyler Johnson, many aunts, uncles and cousins.She was preceded in death by her mother Shirlene, her maternal grandparents and her paternal grandfather, a brother Dana, and an infant brother and sister.
