Click here to view the memorial video.Lawrence “Punch” Snyder, 58, of Walthill, Nebraska died on Monday, July 6, 2009 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska after a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 10, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Walthill, Nebraska with Fr. Michael Eckley officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill. Punch was bron on May 28, 1951 in Decatur, Nebraska, the son of John and Lois (Ross) Snyder of Winnebago, Ne. He resided in Winnebago and Walthill all of his life. Punch was an extremely hard worker until his illness took over in 1978. He was an avid sportsman, enjoying many activities including arm wrestling, softball, basketball, and football. Punch loved the out-of-doors, horses, dogs and physical fitness. Punch is survived by his mother, Mrs. John (Lois) Snyder of Walthill, NE, a sister, Mrs. Arilin (Mary Lou) Neill of Walthill, NE, a brother, John and his wife Robin of Rosalie, NE, and many nieces nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, John, brothers Wendal and Jospeh.
