Click here to view the memorial video.Donald S. Hawk, 69, of Rosalie, Nebraska passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at the Pender Care Centre in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 27, at 10:30 A.M. at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie with the Rev. Neal Mather officiating. A visitation will be held on Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender, Nebraska. Interment will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, Nebraska Don was born on January 26, 1940, in Wisner, Nebraska the son of Edwin and Dorothy (Johnson) Hawk. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Keith “Doc” and Elizabeth Twiford from the age of seven, along with Keith White of Rosalie. Don graduated from Rosalie High School in 1957 and also served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. He married June Kubik on May 5, 1968. Don worked for the family business, Twiford Trucking, driving truck and shelling corn for over 25 years. Later he retired from Blue Ox in 2003 due to poor health. He enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with his family and friends. Donald is survived by his wife June of Rosalie, son Monty and his wife Jan of Rosalie, daughter Heidi of Rosalie and friend Ryan Eichelberger, sister Phyllis Baranway of Longmont, CO, a niece, Kimberly Gould and her husband Travis of Fire Stone, CO, and nephew J. D. Baranway of Longmont, Co, and many other relatives and friends. Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Dorthy Hawk, his aunt and uncle, Keith and Elizabeth Twiford and a brother, Gene Schaeffer.
