Kraig Kubik

Kraig “Boomer” Donald Kubik, 42, of Emerson, NE, had his life taken on November 2, 2016. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson, NE; Pastor Gretchen Ritola will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at the church.  Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson.  Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation.  Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is in charge of the arrangements.Kraig was born December 2, 1973 in Council Bluffs, IA. Five days later he came to his new home with Donald and Jeannette Kubik, where he met his brother, Kirk and sister, Kristi. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson. Kraig graduated from Emerson-Hubbard High School in 1992. While attending school, he helped his dad farm, repair cars, tractor, and buildings. After graduating, he worked for L-Z Manufacturing Company building and repairing horse race track equipment. He also worked for several construction companies doing steel and cement work. He continued to do repair work at home in his spare time. While employed at SBI, he helped build the new Corner Stone Church in Sioux City, and several ethanol plants around the area. Kraig was an excellent welder, welding since he was four years old, able to fix almost anything. He loved playing the piano and video game, Guitar Hero.  Survivors include his father, Donald Kubik of Emerson, NE; daughter, Destiney Kubik of West Point, NE; son, Kraig Kubik, Jr. of Emerson, NE; brother, Kirk (Grace) Kubik of Louisville, NE; sister, Kristi (Dale) Gaither of South Sioux City, NE; He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Kraig is preceded in death by his mother, Jeannette and an infant brother, Klark.  He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Clarence and Libby Kubik and David and Guyla Cooper.
