Margaret H. Turner, 95, of Wakefield, NE died on Friday, November 25, 2016 at the Wakefield Health Care Center in Wakefield, NE. Funeral services for Margaret will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Wakefield, NE: Pastor William Bertrand will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield; with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Margaret was born on September 14, 1921 in Martinsburg, NE, the daughter of Oscar, Sr. and Hattie (Bauman) Becker. She attended school in Allen and graduated in 1936. On February 12, 1946, Margaret was united in marriage to Kermit Turner in Wakefield, NE. To this union four children were born: Jerry, Patricia, Barbara and Thomas. The couple farmed near Wakefield. In 1980, Margaret and Kermit moved into Wakefield. Kermit died on December 8, 2008. She was a member of the V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliary, active in her church serving as treasurer and working with the Ladies Aid. Margaret was also a member of the Pleasant Dale Card Club, and worked with the election board. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and crafting. She is survived by her sons: Jerry (Dotty) Turner of Denver, CO and Thomas Turner of Wakefield, NE; daughters: Patricia Ricketts of Denver, CO and Barbara Turner of Lincoln, NE. Margaret is also survived by three grandchildren: Rebecca Pence, Bradley Turner of Denver,CO and Charity Turner of Lincoln, NE, a great grandson Raymond of Lincoln, NE; great granddaughters Olivia and Rylee and great grandson Logan all of Denver, CO; and many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Kermit, a son-in-law Joe Ricketts; sisters: Helen Watter and Beatrice “Bee” Anderson; and brothers, Oscar Becker, Jr. and Gerald “Jake” Becker.
