Antone “Tony” Pycha, 88, of Winnebago, NE died on Friday, December 30, 2016 at on Omaha hospital due to medical complications suffered in a house explosion on December 19, 2016. Funeral services for Tony will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Presbyterian Church in Walthill; Pastor Dean Ross will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Friday, January 6, 2017 at the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender from 3:00 until 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Pender Hospital Foundation. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. Tony was born on December 25, 1928 near Rosalie, Nebraska, the son of James, Sr. and Mary (Stepanek) Pycha. He attended and graduated from Winnebago High School in 1946. He was a lifelong farmer. Tony is survived by sister, Mary (Richard) Heyne of Pender, NE; sister-in-law, Martha Pycha of Schuyler, NE. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, (Barbara’s daughters) Pam & Buddy Holland and Jolene Armstrong, Frances & Jim Yelinek; Margaret’s daughters, Diane & Lewis Echols and Brenda Hansen and Eric Collins; Marie Johnson, Bill Hamann, Jr., Jan Pycha and Steve Guthrie, Julie & John Cech, David Pycha, Joyce and Jeremy Dauel, Dwight and Pearl Morgan, Donald and Cheryl Morgan, Carol and Jim Charling, Katherine and Robert Brummels, Judy Ramsey, Robert and Marylou Pycha, Joanne and Terry Topolski, Nancy and Jeff Quine, Linda and Mark Finger, Lisa Houdesheldt and Ron Rennolet, Darlene & Craig Weborg and many more great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary; siblings, Bessie (Claus) Eicke, Blanche (William, Sr.) Hamann; Joe Pycha, Louis Pycha, Helen Morgan, James, Jr. (Ruth) Pycha, and an infant brother Charles; and nieces, Margaret Hamann Hansen and Barbara (Chuck) Eicke Armstrong.
