Mynhardt E Soenksen

Mynhardt Soenksen, 94, of Bancroft, NE died on Saturday, January 07, 2017 at Legacy Garden Living and Rehabilitation Center in Pender, NE.  Funeral services for Mynhardt will be held on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 10:30 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft; Pastor Nathan Henschen will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Bancroft, NE.  Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Bancroft is in charge of the arrangements.  Mynhardt was born on July 18, 1922 near Bancroft, NE.   He was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church near Bancroft, NE.  After attending school he began farming.  Mynhardt was united in marriage to Cora Leimer on September 5, 1943 at Zion Lutheran Church near Bancroft, NE.  To this union three children were born:  Ron, Lyle and Flora.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Bancroft.  He took pride in farming.  In his early years he raised hogs, fed cattle and milked cows with his wife, Cora.  He also had the feed lot and raised cattle for the Farmers Elevator in Bancroft.   Mynhardt enjoyed woodworking, clock making and putting jigsaw puzzles together.  He liked taking care of his gardens, both after moving into Bancroft and later to Legacy Garden.   Mynhardt could always be counted on to lend a hand to someone who needed help. He is survived by his wife Cora of Pender, his sons; Ron (Pat) Soenksen of Pierce, NE and Lyle (Karen) Soenksen of West Point, NE; daughter Flora (Terry) Larson of Lusk, WY.  He is also survived by nine grandchildren and several great grandchildren.  Mynhardt was preceded in death by his parents, sisters; Adeline Wickert and Lorna Page and a son-in-law Ronnie Johnson.
