Dena Colleen (O’Mara) Lampe, 91, of Pender, NE, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Pender Community Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at the United Church of Pender at 10:30 a.m.; Pastor Aaron Trimble will be officiating. The visitation will be Monday, February 13, 2017 at the United Church of Pender from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer at 7:00 p.m. The burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Memorials are suggested to the Multiple Sclerosis Society 328 South 72nd Street, Omaha, NE 68114 in Dena’s name. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.Dena was born September 26, 1925 on a farm south of Rosalie, NE to Clarence and Maggie (Beaudette) O’Mara. Then they moved to a farm north of Walthill, NE. She graduated from Walthill High School and worked in the grocery store in Walthill and Pender. In 1948, she married Harold Lampe in the Rosalie Methodist Church. Harold and Dena were married for 46 years. The couple was blessed to adopt a daughter, Angela Kay, in August of 1966. Dena was a grade school teacher for over 40 years, teaching in Winnebago, Pender, and Macy. She started teaching September of 1944, and retired in May of 1989. Dena is survived by her daughter, Angela Hall of Simms, TX; sister, Geraldine (Merlyn) Trimble of Pender, NE; grandchildren, Lindsay Bowder of Simms, TX, and Laci (Mike) Fuchser of Sioux City, IA; and great grandchildren, Devyn Fuchser, Tate Hall, and Desiree Bowder. Dena was preceded in death by her parents; husband; Harold; sister, Erma (Lawerence) Fahrenholz; brother-in-law, Don Trimble; son-in-law, Archie Hall, and an infant sister.
