Arthur "Bud" Reil

Arthur “Bud” Reil, formerly of Rosalie, NE, our dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and friend, passed away on October 14, 2009 in Vermillion, SD at 87 years of age. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie. A visitation will be held on Monday with the family present from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Bancroft. Burial will be in the Bancroft Cemetery, Bancroft, NE. Luncheon following the burial will be at the Rosalie Community Center. Bud was born on July 14, 1922 to Gerhard and Katherine (Klusman) Reil in Cuming County, NE. He lived most of his life in Rosalie. He served his country in World War II and came home a decorated War Veteran. Upon returning to Rosalie, he owned his farming operation there. He also did welding at Campbell’s Mfg. in Walthill, NE. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosalie. While farming and raising livestock, he loved fishing, boating, flying, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. He continued his hobbies for years after his retirement. In 1946 he married Phyllis Darlene Krutz of Pilger, NE, and they shared almost 59 years of marriage until her death in November of 2004. Bud and Phyllis had three beautiful children: Carolyn (Paul) DeLong of Yankton, SD; Jimmy (Won Ok) Reil of Hazel Green, AL; and Cheryl (Mike) Jester of of Cheshire, CT. In addition to his children and their spouses, he is survived by grandchildren: Christi (Bud) Reynolds of Jefferson, SD; Crystal Delph of Mission Hills, SD, Lance (Ericka) Simpson of Sioux City, IA; Richard Reil of North Hollywood, CA; Steven Jester of Cheshire, CT; and Michelle Jester of Plantsville, CT, twelve great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. His greatest joy in life was his beautiful family. He was preceded in death by is parents, his beloved wife Phyllis, brothers, William and Alfred and sisters Lena and Erma.
