Eloise was born on April 9, 1913 in Rock Rapids, Iowa, the daughter of Walter and Bertha (Davisson) Stewart. She married Otto Wagner on January 20, 1937. To this union five children were born: Jim, Doug, Richard, Nancy and Karol Ann. Karol Ann died in infancy. Throughout her life she worked hard to make a home for her family. Well into her children’s adulthood she was urged to make or bake thing for them. When all three of her sons were in the military she mailed them Folger’s Coffee cans full of the best oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies in the world. In the end, she left her family a heritage of values, an appreciation for hard work, and many wonderful memories.
Eloise is survived by four children: Jim, Doug, Richard and Nancy Darnell, as well as twelve grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and two sisters.
Eloise was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Otto, and an infant daughter Karol Ann.
