Click here to view the video tribute.Caroline F. Gustafson, 93 of Walthill, Nebraska died Saturday, January 2, 2010 at the Pender Community Hospital. Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 5, 2010 10:30 A.M. at the Presbyterian Church in Walthill; Pastor Harold Ross will be officiating. The visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral service at the church on Tuesday. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Walthill. Caroline was born June 15, 1916 in Walthill, the daughter of Charles and Lila Dunn. She graduated from high school in Walthill. She married Rejas Gustafson on February 17, 1940 in So. Sioux City, NE. To this union three children were born: Gene, Mary and Judy. The couple farmed in the Bancroft, Pender and Walthill areas. In 1987 they moved into Walthill. They celebrated their 50 anniversary in 1990. Rejas died July 18, 1990. Caroline was active in the Presbyterian Church, Walthill Senior Center the Neighborhood Club and Ladies Aid. Her hobbies included needle work and her flowers and gardening. Caroline is survived by 2 daughters: Mary Nelson of Fremont, Nebraska, and Judy and husband Ed Richter of Palatine, Ill., and a daughter-in-law Paula Gustafson of Lansing, KS. Also surviving her are 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. Caroline is also survived by 2 brothers Clifton Dunn of Walthill and Lewis and his wife Catherine Dunn of Plattsmouth, NE. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rejas, a son Gene, one sister Dorothy, three brothers Orville, Calvin and Lee.
