Mary Ann Mark, 80, of Homer, Nebraska, passed away on Monday, March 22, 2010 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 26, at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill, NE, with the Rev. Brion Tolzman officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill.
Mary was born on October 8, 1929, in Walthill, Nebraska, the daughter of Marvin and Della (Chidester) Wingett. She graduated from Walthill High School, and worked in various positions during her life. Most recently she worked as a caregiver for many close friends and family. She married Lewis E. Mark on May 27, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran. Her hobbies included crocheting afghans and making baby blankets. She was also an avid reader, liked playing solitaire, doing crosswords and walking her pug, Cricket. She also enjoyed traveling to her sister’s in Missouri, babysitting, and watching and discussing PBR bull riding with her sister Norma.
Mary is survived by children: Judy (Richard) Wagner of Fremont, NE; Dale (Janie) Mark of Homer, NE; Michille (Duane) Johnson of Vermillion, SD, grandchildren: Chad (Stephanie) Wagner and Jessica Boysen all of Fremont, NE, and great grandchildren: Tristan, Emma and Jack Boysen of Fremont, Nebraska. She is also survived by a sister, Norma Morgan of Elkland, MO, brothers: Bill (Virginia) Wingett of Vermillion, SD; and Doug (Ruth Ann) Wingett of Walthill, NE, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Lewis, her stepfather, L. E. (Mick) Conley, and a brother, Dennis Wingett.
