Rosa Roberts

Rosa (Wenger) Roberts, 98, of Walthill, Nebraska passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010 at St. Luke’s Regional Medical Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 21 at 10:30 a.m. at the Walthill Presbyterian Church in Walthill. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill. Rosa was born on April 20, 1912 in Walthill, NE, to Rudolph and Lizzy (Berger) Wenger. She married Edward A. Roberts on May 2, 1929 in Onawa, Iowa. They farmed near Winnebago, Rosalie and Decatur. In recent years she has been a resident of Regency Square Care Center in South Sioux City, NE. Rosa leaves to mourn her passing two daughters and two sons: Phyllis Sierk of Dakota City, NE; Lois Copple of Sioux City, IA; Wayne and his wife Allene of Poteau, OK; and Edward Jr. and Patricia of South Sioux City, NE. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Dennis and Sheila Sierk of Huntsville, AL; Kenneth and Linda Sierk of Benton, AR; Kevin and Ella Copple of China; Kerry and Lori Copple of Brookshire, TX; Nanette and Kerry Fladung of Sioux City, IA, Robin and Alan Sample of Norman, OK; Allen and Mark Plymale, Shelly and Mike Smith, and Regina Adams all of Fort Smith AR; Karla and Dee Coplin of Huntington, AR; Theresa and Tracy Briggs of Columbus, NE; Jackie and Randy Berke of Walthill, Ne; William Roberts of Rosalie, NE, 22 great grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren. She also leaves a sister, Ellen Vossler and several nieces and nephews. Rosa was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward, a daughter, Wilma, three brothers, two sisters and two sons-in law.
