Louis S. Kratky

Louis S. Kratky, 76, of Thurston, Nebraska, surrounded by the love of his family, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2010 at the Pender Care Centre in Pender, NE. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 22, at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Emerson, NE, with Father Michael Malloy officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. The visitation will continue Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Emerson with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Emerson. Louis was born on November 1, 1933, at Prague, Nebraska to Louis and Marie (Frohner) Kratky. He graduated from Thurston High School in 1951. He served his country from 1954 to 1956. He was a long time farmer in the Thurston Nebraska area. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus, the Thurston American Legion, and Holy Name. Louis was united in marriage to Jeannie Wilke on October 12, 1957. To this union 3 daughters were born: Denise, Kathy and Carolyn. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, of Thurston, NE, daughters Denise Kaup and her husband Gene of Oakland, NE; Kathy Webster and her husband Gregg of Pender, NE; Carolyn Boline and Doug Lange of Las Vegas, NV, one granddaughter, Lynna Webster, one sister, Leona Doupnik and her husband Glen of Pender, NE, and one brother, Gene Kratky of Thurston, NE. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers-in-law, and a host of relatives and friends. Louis was preceded in death by his parents and one brother LeRoy Kratky.
