Ada M. Munderloh, 96, of Pender, Nebraska died on Friday, June 26, 2010 at the Pender Care Centre surrounded by her family.
The funeral service for Ada will be held on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at 10:30 A.M. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. The visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Pender. Burial will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.
Ada was born on February 13, 1914 near Pender, the daughter of Arand and Anna (Schultz) Essman. She was baptized on October 11, 1914, and later confirmed on April 1, 1928 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church. She attended school and graduated from Pender High School in 1931. After her graduation, Ada moved to New York City, where she worked as a nanny. She married Richard Munderloh on August 10, 1938. They made their home in Thurston, Nebraska. In 1967, Ada and Richard moved to Pender. Ada was an active member of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church, serving twenty-five years as a Sunday School Teacher and as Superintendent for several years. Ada worked as a nurse’s aid at the Pender Clinic for nineteen years before retiring on October 1, 1983. Ada enjoyed traveling, playing cards, cooking, quilting and crocheting, along with several other hobbies. Dick died on August 3, 2000. Ada continued to live at her home until 2009, when she entered the Pender Care Centre.
Ada is survived by her son Dennis and wife Georgia Munderloh of Pender, granddaughter Kris and husband Scott Levine of Greensboro, North Carolina, their three children Benjamin, Nathan and Jackson; she is also survived by a grandson Stephen and wife Amy of Wakefield, and their two children Anthony and Lauren. Ada is also survived by a sister Pearl Schmidt of Beemer, and a host of many nieces and nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard, two brothers and 5 sisters.
