Marvin M. Ruzicka Jr.

Marvin “Junior” M. Ruzicka, 50, of Emerson, Nebraska, passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at his home in Emerson. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 21, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson with the Rev. Gretchen Ritola officiating. A visitation will be held on Monday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Munderloh Funeral Home in Emerson, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at a later date. Junior was born on January 27, 1960 in Creighton, Nebraska to Marvin and Gertrude (Meyer) Ruzicka. He went through grade school in Verdigre, NE, and graduated from High School in Wakefield, NE. Junior married Diane Gutzmann on July 25, 1981. He worked for many years for the Milton G. Waldbaum Co., Great Dane Trailers in Wayne, and Lorensen Lumber in Pender, and then driving truck for Lux Brothers of Hubbard, NE. Junior was an avid Fisherman, Hunter. Junior is survived by his wife, Diane of Emerson, NE, Daughter Melinda (Adam) Davis of Lexington, NE, son, Chris (Deana) Ruzicka of Aberdeen, Maryland, two grandchildren: Dominic and Dino, three brothers: Gene (Laura) of Mission Hills, SD; Alan of Lyons, NE; and Garry (Jackie) of Wayne, NE, six sisters: Carol and Jayne Ruzicka of Clarion, IA; Joyce Kleinshmit of Yankton, SD; Marlene Bittner of Albion, NE; Donna (Joe) Mausbach of Norfolk, NE; and Sister Kathy Ruzicka of David City, NE. He is also survived by father-in-law Leonard Gutzmann, brother-in-law Joe (Diane) Gutzmann of Emerson, NE, and Danny (Johnene) Gutzmann of Emerson, NE. He had many nieces and nephews which he loved, several of which he referred to as “His Sweeties”. Junior was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Donovon Ruzicka, mother-in-law Donna Lou Gutzmann, sister-in-law Patsy Gutzmann, brother-in-law Gerard Kleinschmit, and nephew Jayson Kleinschmit.
