Lauretta M. Stolze

Lauretta M. Stolze, 64, of Thurston, Nebraska, died on Friday, October 22, 2010 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 26 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson, Nebraska. A visitation will be held on Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at St Paul’s Lutheran Church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Lauretta was born on May 10, 1946 in Sioux City, Iowa to Henry and Treva (Chapman) DeGraaff. She was baptized at Salem Lutheran Church in Dakota City, NE. She attended Grade School in Hubbard, NE, and graduated from Emerson Hubbard High School in Emerson. Lauretta married Donald Stolze on July 11, 1964. She worked for many years for the Emerson-Hubbard school system both as an aide and hot lunch secretary. She also worked as a receptionist and secretary for Waldbaum’s at Big Red Farms near Wakefield, NE. She was most recently employed at Great Dane Trailers of Wayne, NE in the Human Resource Department. Lauretta was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran church in Emerson since 1965. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, taking pictures, and spending time with her grand children. Lauretta is survived by her husband, Donald, two sons: Donald Jr. and his wife Stacy of Norfolk, NE; and Steven and his wife Karen of South Sioux City, NE; six grandchildren: Shelby, Cole, twins Nathan and Nicholas, and twins Korey and Kelly, and two sisters, Bonnie Warren of Fullerton, CA, and Susan Twyford and her husband Chuck of South Sioux City, NE. Lauretta was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Treva DeGraaff, an infant brother Michael, two brothers-in-law: Faye Warren; and Jim Bruggeman, father-in-law William Stolze and nephews Scott Warren and Jason Bruggeman.
