Rory Don Young

Rory Don Young, 50, of Walthill, Nebraska, died on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at his home in Walthill. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 4, at 2:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Walthill, with Elder Nola Briggs officiating. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, from 5:00 to 8:30 P.M. at the Church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill. Rory was born on January 8, 1960, in Sioux City, Iowa, to George and Connie (Ring) Young. He graduated from Walthill High School in 1978. After High School, Rory worked several years doing road construction. Later he also worked for Goldenrod Hills and King’s Disposal. Rory liked to spend time outdoors hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a fun-loving, friendly, giving, and was blessed with an enormous sense of humor. Anyone that was around him very long usually went away laughing or smiling. Rory had a unique way of bringing joy to those he encountered. Rory is survived by his wife, Elizabeth of Walthill, two sons, Chris and Mason of Sioux City, Iowa, daughter Jessica Colvin of North Bend, grandchildren: Madison Young, and Chayce, Kristian and Kadynce Colvin, three nephews, Boulder Young of Castana, IA, Brandon Young of Blencoe, IA, Brady Young of Sioux City, a niece, Shannon (Sean) Walken, of West Point, NE, two uncles, Stanley (Lucille) Ring of South Sioux City, NE, and Don (Mary) Ring, of North Bend, NE, and two aunts, Joanne Andersen of Sioux City, IA, and Oma (Ralph) Rogers of Dakota Dunes, SD, as well as many, many cousins. Rory was preceded in death by Mother, Connie, Father, George, and a brother, Omar.
