Randy Zimmerman

Randy Zimmerman, 56, of Macy, Nebraska, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 10, at 2:00 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill, Nebraska with Pastor Brion Tolzman officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Church in Walthill. Interment will be in Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, Ne. Randy was born on November 15, 1954, in Sioux City, Iowa, the son of Ronald and Darlene (Kollbaum) Zimmerman. He grew up in the Anthon / Mapleton Iowa area. He was united in marriage to Cheryl Swanson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Walthill on September 19, 1980. To this union three children were born. He worked in the farming and trucking business all of his life, and loved "playing in the dirt" with big toys. Randy is survived by his wife, Cheryl, his mother, Darlene Zimmerman of St. Joseph, MO, children: Martin Zimmerman of Sioux Falls, SD, Miranda and McKayla Zimmerman of Macy, NE, Brandy (Tony) Rus and Amy (Kenny) McKinney both of LeMars, IA, John (Ashley) Zimmerman of Thermopolis, WY, brothers Rod (Sue) Zimmerman of St. Joseph, MO, Reggie (Lori) Zimmerman of Savannah, MO, and sister Rhonda (Ross) Callaway of St. Joseph, MO. He is also survived by eight grandchildren. Randy was preceded in death by his father Ronald.
