Ann M. Kai

Ann M. Kai, 62, of Pender, Nebraska, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in Tekamah, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 18, at 10:30 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church in Pender with Fr. Gerald A. Leise officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Ann was born on February 2, 1948 in Yankton, South Dakota, the daughter of Eugene and Rita (Schulte) Stevens. She graduated in 1966 from Cedar Catholic High School in Hartington, NE. Ann married Terry Kai on August 11, 1979 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne, Nebraska. She worked in the area after her marriage. Ann had been in nursing homes for the last several years. Ann is survived by her husband Terry, siblings: Rita (Merlin) Hamilton of Custer, SD; Peg (Bob) Brandt of Wahoo, NE; Kathy (Steve) Winkelman of Limon, CO; Steve (Jan) Stevens of Columbus, NE; Joe (Joyce) Stevens of Speedway, IN; Pat (Tony) Ticknor of Wisconsin Rapids, WI; Chuck (Sheila) Stevens of Carmel, IN, a brother-in-law, Chuck Juffer of Fishers, IN, and many nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Sue.
