Barbara M. Clements, 87, of Emerson, NE, died on Friday, June 16, 2023, at Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home in Emerson. A memorial visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson. The memorial service will follow the visitation at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the Emerson Public Library. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.
Barb was born on September 8, 1935, at home, northwest of Emerson, the daughter of Carl and Louise (Heckens) Paulsen. She graduated from Emerson High School in 1952. On February 8, 1953, she was united in marriage to Billy Clements.
Barb and Bill made their home in rural Emerson, where they farmed and raised cattle. The later moved into Emerson, where they owned the Gamble Store. She ran the Gamble Store, and kept book for everything Bill was involved in.
Barb was active in her church, teaching Sunday School, Bible School, and was active in Ladies Aide. She was also Worthy Grand Matron in the Eastern Star, and held state office, where she represented Nebraska on the national level. Barb was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Emerson for many years.
Barb was an avid reader, and served on the Emerson Library board. She always had a book and a mug of coffee with her. Her family was her life. You could be family by blood or a family by love. She was always there for family.
Barb is survived by son, Eric “RC” (Val) Clements of Emerson, NE; daughter, Pamela (Ray) Potter of Thurston, NE; three grandchildren, Thomas (Haley) Clements and their children, Kenley, Sam and Anna of Elkhorn, NE, Tyler (Ashlee) Clements and their son Cameron of Omaha, NE, Rebekah Potter and her son Carter of Pender, NE; brothers, Roger (JoAnn) Paulsen of Emerson, NE, and Donnie (Shirley) Paulsen of Silver Creek, Ne; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
