Bonnie Ruth Steecker

Bonnie R. Steecker, 80, of Emerson, NE, died on Tuesday, March 7, 2023, at Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home in Emerson.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is assisting with the services.

Bonnie was born on September 19, 1942, in Wakefield, NE, the daughter of Benjamin and Viney (Strivens) Bokemper.  She was united in marriage to William Steecker in Sioux City, IA, on October 28, 1957.  To this union two sons were born, Leon and Loren.  She worked for a time at M.G. Waldbaums, before continuing to work at Tru Value Hardware in Emerson, NE; later, she worked at Tru Value Hardware, Anderson Hardware, and later Miller Lumber, all in Wakefield, NE.  She also helped Bill farm and do chores. She enjoyed reading, and working on word search puzzles; most of all she enjoyed her family.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bill; sons, Leon (Deb) Steecker, and Loren (Tammy) Steecker of Emerson, NE; grandchildren, Meagan (Kevin) Frey and their children Hank, Joey, and Penny of Hickman, NE, Eric (Katie) Steecker of Emerson, NE, Melissa (Michael) Collins and their son Beckett of Emerson, NE; sisters, Maxine Peters of Emerson, NE, Shirley Carter of Emerson, NE, and Joann Flemming of Sioux City, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and five sisters.
