Calvin Steecker

Calvin Alan Steecker, 71, of Norfolk, NE died on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Faith Regional Hospital in Norfolk, NE. The funeral service will be held on Monday, February 1, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Emerson, Ne; Pastor Charity Potter will be officiating. The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday and will run until the time of the service. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery of Emerson, NE. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Emerson is in charge of the services. Calvin was born on July 6, 1949 in Wakefield, NE, the son of Harvey and Nora (Loetscher) Steecker. He grew up on a farm northwest of Emerson and attended Emerson – Hubbard schools. Following school, Calvin worked at M.G. Waldbaum’s in Wakefield, NE. Over the years he also worked at Broyhills in Dakota City, NE, Iowa Beef Products in Dakota City, NE, for a short time at a Marshmallow factory in Gary, Indiana. After moving to Norfolk several years ago, Calvin worked security at Walmart until his retirement. Calvin enjoyed all sports. He loved baseball, football, basketball and even watched and listened to high school sports. He is survived by his sisters, Marlene (Jim) Wagner of Lincoln, NE and Cheryl (Dan) Harris of Omaha, NE; brothers, Merlyn (Sue) Steecker of Sioux City, IA, Kenneth (Giovanna) Steecker of Frutiland Park, FL, Curtis Steecker of Lincoln, NE and Ernest Steecker of Norfolk, NE; and several nieces and nephews. Calvin was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Nora Steecker and his grandparents.
