Carol M. Woten, 83, of Walthill, NE, died on Tuesday, December 15, 2020 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, December 17, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender. A private family funeral will be held at the Walthill Methodist Church, with Pastor Toni Hightree officiating. Burial will be Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all state guidelines will be in effect and we ask for everyone in attendance to wear a mask and respect social distancing.
Carol was born on May 26, 1937 in Walthill, NE to Ernest P. and Neva Mae (Bahr) Warnock. She grew up in the Walthill area attending Country School before going to Walthill High School. On May 21, 1953 Carol married Richard L. Woten, Sr. in Hiawatha, KS. To this union the couple had three children, Robin, Todd and Richard, Jr.
Carol worked her entire life in the Walthill Community, she started her career as a cook for the Walthill School, followed by working her way into an office position at Campbell Manufacturing Company, then she became and clerk at Heritage Foodtown, but after 21 years of service for the Grain Elevator in Walthill she retired at the age of 79. Carol was an active member of the Walthill United Methodist Church.
Carol enjoyed being around people, she always invited friends and family over for cookies and a good cup of coffee. She spent numerous hours tending to her beloved flower gardens and rose bushes, she loved being outside. In the fall, Carol loved watching the Huskers play football. She loved attending events of her grandchildren and great grandchildren as much as possible.
Carol is survived by her son, Todd Woten of Walthill, NE; daughter, Robin Snyder of Rosalie, NE; 8 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Richard, Sr.; son, Richard, Jr. ”Rick”; son-in-law, John Snyder; sister Sue Beaudette; brothers, Kenny Warnock and Ernie Warnock.
