Charleen Kay (Spatz) Huntley, 80, of Emerson, NE, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Heritage of Emerson Nursing Home. The visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Munderloh–Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at the Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield. The burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh–Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield.
Charleen was born on August 17, 1944, in Milford, NE, the daughter of Raymond and Dorothy (Norris) Spatz. She was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview, NE. In 1963, Charleen graduated from Plainview High School. She was united in marriage to Rollie C. Huntley at Zion Lutheran Church in Plainview, NE on May 8, 1965. To this union, Clark and Melissa were born. For many years, she worked as a teacher’s aide and an Avon Representative. She enjoyed putting together puzzles, watching television, camping, and road trips, especially the trip to Alaska with Rollie.
Charleen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Rollie of Emerson, NE; son, Clark Huntley of Emerson, NE; daughter, Melissa (Robbie) Bose of Emerson, NE; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sister, Brenda Henery of Plainview, NE.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary Spatz; and sister, Lois Mosel.
