Charlotte A. Browning, 96, of Lyons, Nebraska died on Thursday, March 01, 2018 at Legacy Garden and Rehabilitation Center in Pender, NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Bancroft, NE; Father Paul Ortmeier will be officiating. The visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be in the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church Cemetery near Bancroft, NE. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Bancroft is in charge of the arrangements. Charlotte was born on August 15, 1921 in Elkhorn, NE, the daughter of Alfred and Catherine (Quinn) Frost. She attended and graduated from Lyons High School. On November 21, 1942, she was united in marriage to John Browning. To this union eight children were born. The couple lived in Omaha for a short time before returning to Bancroft in 1944 to farm. She was a member of St. Mary’s Alter Society. Charlotte enjoyed sewing, tending to her flowers and garden and baking. Most of all she enjoyed the time with her family. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Charleen Anderson of Lyons, NE, Mardelle (Larry) Connealy of Decatur, NE and Bonnie (Rod) Kroger of Lyons, NE; sons, John (Pat) Browning of Bancroft, NE, Alvin (Pam) Browning of Lyons, NE, Bob Browning of Lyons, NE and Jim (Donna) Browning of Lyons, NE. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 48 great grandchildren and 13 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; daughter, Wanda Krumwiede; granddaughters, Brittni Browning and Heidi Browning; grandson, Stephen Connealy; a brother, Kenneth Frost; and son-in-law Jerry Anderson.
