Coleen I. Braun

Coleen I Braun, 71, of Pender, Ne, died on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.  A celebration of Coleen’s life will be held on Thursday, June 16, 2022 beginning with a visitation at 5:00 p.m. followed by the Celebration of Life at  6:00 p.m. in the Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Please join us after the Celebration of Life to celebrate Coleen's 72nd birthday.  In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting all memorials go to either the American Cancer Society or the June E. Nylan Cancer Center in Sioux City Iowa. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE. 

Coleen was born on June 16, 1950 at the California Hospital in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Leslie and Gloria (Curtis) Barnes.  Following her graduation from Covina High School in 1968, Coleen started her career as a Police Officer for South Pasadena Police force in Southern California. Her next venture was as a Police Officer for the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) for 20 years. After leaving the department, she enjoyed a different career working for Norwegian Cruise Line in Hawaii for 11 years. She retired to Pender Nebraska were she couldn't stay retired and went to work as a dispatcher for Thurston County. 

 She is survived by her two daughters, Francheska Sanchez and Tina Braun, and two granddaughters Alexsis (fiancé, Korbin) and Viktoria.  Coleen is also survived by two sisters, a niece and a nephew.

Coleen was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and niece.
