Daniel L. Dutcher, 62, of Wakefield, died on September 26th, 2017, following an accident at Michael's Foods in Wakefield, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wayne, Nebraska. The visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Wayne, Nebraska, with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the Wayne Activity Center. Burial will be in the Wakefield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Following the committal service at the cemetery a lunch will be held at the Wakefield Legion Hall. Dan was born on September 24, 1955 in St Paul, Nebraska, the son of Donald and Anna Mae Dutcher. He was raised in Greeley, Nebraska, where he attended Sacred Heart School and Greeley public school, graduating in 1973. He was united in marriage to Pam Dugan on June 10, 1978. To this union one son and four daughters were born. Dan and Pam made their home in Greeley where Dan worked with his father at Greeley farm implement. Dan and Pam moved to Wakefield in 1983. For the last 12 years Dan has worked for Michael Foods. Dan was active in the community, especially the baseball program, announcing numerous ball games. Dan loved baseball, Nebraska Football, and sharing stories. Nothing was more important to Dan than his children and grandchildren. He was quick to tell every one of them and how much he loved them. Survivors include his wife, Pam, children and grandchildren; son, Justin and Christa Dutcher, Anna and Kylie of Wayne, daughters, Rachel and Aaron Dutcher-Bessmer, Brooklynn, Addilynn & Emberlynn of Ponca, Elizabeth Dutcher, Dannie, Easton and BriarRose of Wakefield, Jessica and Trent Kling, Grace, Hope, and Faith of Gordon, and Regina and Cory Dutcher-Jorgensen and Boone of Pender. Parents, Donald and Anna Mae Dutcher of Greeley, one brother, Kevin and Hannah Dutcher of Philadelphia, PA. Two sisters, Peggy and Scott Ondracek and Donna and Denny Stromp all of Greeley also numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Dutcher, brother-in-law, Marty Dugan and his grandparents, Emil and Elizabeth LaBenz.
