Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson. Dan was born on January 22, 1959, in Madison WI. His family moved to Kings Valley, OR not long after he was born to live on his grandparents’ farm. There he grew up with his siblings creating a ruckus like only little boys on a farm could do until moving to Alaska as a teen. The mischievous toddler grew up to be a hilarious storyteller. He had a talent for telling a story that made you feel like you were there, by the end of the story your sides and cheeks would be hurting from all the laughter. Everyone would have tears from all the laughs, now there are tears from missing him. Around 1986, he moved to Emerson, NE where he worked at Mueller Grain until 2005. He was currently a truck driver for Lux Bros. Dan met Kim Satterwhite, and they had a daughter, Nicole. He loved being a daddy to his little girl, she was the light of his life. Every summer he would spend time in Oregon visiting family and friends. He was a much-loved father, grandfather, brother, and friend to many. We will truly miss his stories, humor, and laughter. Dan was preceded in death by his parents Ray and Mary “Dee” McRae; brother, Dean McRae. He is survived by his daughter, Nicole McRae of Wisner; granddaughter, Olivia; partner of 25 years, Kim Satterwhite of Emerson, stepdaughter, Brooke; stepson, Aaron; sister, Renee (Glen) Freeman of Philomath OR, brothers, Dale (Elvie) McRae of Salem OR, and Rich McRae of Anchorage AK.
