David was a lifelong resident of Pender, playing many roles throughout his life as a son, brother, nephew, cousin, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many. He was born on February 11, 1955, to Robert and Lois (née Mackey) Lueders at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE. Dave was the middle of three children.
David attended elementary school at District #2 (Frog Pond), a one-room schoolhouse, before graduating from Pender High School in 1973. He continued his education at Norfolk Community College after high school graduation. David spent much of his professional career as an electrician, traveling to various locations while always returning to his acreage in Pender. Most recently, he worked for Glissman Salvage until his illness.
David had a special knack for setting up the stages for the original "Pender Bender" outdoor music concerts held on the Lueders family farm. He loved working alongside the performers, ensuring everything was set up for the shows. On December 19, 1997, David married Karen Schincke-Cole. Through this marriage, he gained four children, whom he loved as his own. David’s greatest joy was his grandchildren: He cherished the time spent with them, whether they were shadowing him around the homestead or staying overnight for special visits.
David is survived by his mother, Lois Lueders of Wakefield, NE; wife, Karen Lueders of Pender, NE; sister, Jule Lueders (Scott Read); brother, Dean (Pam) Lueders; children, Marlon Cole (Rachel Davis), Jacob Cole, Heather Cole (Adam Riffey), Deanna (Quentin) Regennitter; grandchildren, Hunter, Hailey, Ryker, Spencer, Kaden, Madeline, Tucker, Otto, Cashius, Madisyn, Izabella, Brylee, and Jerrick.
David is preceded in death by his father, Robert Lueders.
David will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His presence, love, and kindness left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
