Delores Anna (Sunderman) Doht, 89, of Pender, NE, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in rural Pender; Pastor Kathy Montira will be officiating. The visitation will be Friday, November 23, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender. The burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. Memorials may directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE.
Delores, the youngest of four children, was born December 15, 1928 to John and Bertha (Ahlers) Sunderman. She graduated from Pender High School in 1946 and was united in marriage to Dale Doht on June 1, 1947. A lifelong resident of Pender, the couple farmed NW of Pender for 41 years while raising their four children; Barbara, Gail, Connie, and Alan. Her life was dedicated to working side by side with her husband on the farm and raising her family. The couple enjoyed a social life common to living in rural America which included gliding around the dance floor on Saturday nights and playing brutally competitive card games with the neighbors and friends. Delores and Dale were married for 68 years before Dale passed away on September 7, 2015. Delores enjoyed meeting her friends for CC Club and tending her flowers and vegetable garden.
She is survived by his her son, Alan (Shawn) Doht of Pender, NE; daughters, Barbara (William) Price of Dakota Dunes, SD, Connie (John) Miller of Pender, NE, son-in-law, Barry Nelson of Lincoln, NE; 8 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
Delores is preceded in death by her husband; parents, John and Bertha; and daughter, Gail.
