Densil Miles Sebade, 93, of Emerson, NE, died on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE. The visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Monday, August 7, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Emerson, with a prayer service starting at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, with Pastor Charlotte Eversoll officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.
Densil was born to Henry and Anna Sebade on July 25, 1930. He graduated from Emerson High School, in 1948. Following high school he enlisted in the Army and spent time in Fort Ord, CA, Fort Carson, CO, and Fort Lewis, WA. He returned home to marry his high school sweetheart LaDonna Mae Monnich on July 25, 1950. To this union four daughters were born, Denise Lamp, Linnea Kubik, Dinah Crees, and LaRita Stewart. Densil farmed for a few years then moved into town to work at Langmack & Sebade Milling Co. For several years he worked at First National Bank in Emerson. Densil with his talkative nature found his new career moving into retail. The store LaDonna’s opened in Emerson and Ponca. He loved to talk with everyone he met. Densil’s hobby was spending time in his woodworking shop making a variety of toys, trains, and crosses that can still be found throughout the area. Densil served on numerous community committees in his lifetime. He was a member of St. Paul’s Church and the American Legion Post 60.
Densil is survived by his daughters, Denise Lamp, Linnea (Duane) Kubik, Dinah (Craig) Crees, and LaRita (Randy) Stewart; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, LaDonna; grandson, Neal Kubik; son-in-law, Ken Lamp; parents, Henry and Anna; siblings, Violet Johnson, Esther Thomsen, Geraldine Zeisler, Eugene Sebade, Tom Sebade; and brothers-in-law; Earl Johnson, Darold Thomsen, Darrell Zeisler; and sisters-in-law, Maribelle Sebade and Marlice Sebade.
