Don R. Glissman

Don Richard Glissman, 79, of Pender, NE died on Tuesday, February 18, 2020, at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.  Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church in Pender; with Pastor Randy Nelson officiating.  The visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 20, 2020 at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.   Burial with Military Honors will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  

Don was born on August 2, 1940 in Pender, NE, the son of Percival and Agnes (Rebensdorf) Glissman.  He attended Pender High School and Graduated in 1957.  Don served in the Army National Guard for 6 years.  He was a lifelong farmer helping until 2019.  Don married Dianna K. Jenkins on December 31, 1971 in Omaha, NE.  To this union five children were born: Darryl, Dennis, Kevin, Rhonda, and Shelly.

Don was a hardworking man, always providing for his family while tending to the farm.  He loved traveling all over the country, especially to Branson, MO.  He also enjoyed attending and watching baseball games with his grandson.  Don was a member of the American Legion and the Cornerstone Assembly of God Church.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Don was proceeded in death by his parents; son, Dennis Shupe; sister, Anita (Dick) Bruno; brothers, Bob (Lorna) Glissman, Larry Glissman and Stan Glissman.

Don is survived by his wife, Dianna Glissman of Pender, NE; sons, Darryl (Kim) Shupe of Pender, Kevin Glissman of Dakota Dunes, SD; daughters, Rhonda Buchholz of Fremont, Shelly Glissman of Pender; sisters-in-law, Barb (George) Malwitz of Omaha, NE, Eunice Glissman of Pender; six grandchildren, Jake, Taylor, Brandy, Evan, Kristin, Burke; two great grandchildren, Remmy, Prince, and a third on the way.
