Edward Clinton DeMoss, 67, of Pender, NE, passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at his home. Funeral services will be Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Pender, NE; Rev. Les Parmenter will be officiating. The visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning at Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home. The burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery in Pender. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh- Smith Funeral Home in Pender. Ed was born November 30, 1949 to Meredith and Edna (Mitchell) DeMoss in Washington DC. He attended Clinton High School in Clinton, MD. While living in Maryland, Ed was a member of the Bells Methodist Church. He was in the United States Air Force and was stationed in Korea for four years. Ed married Starla Cook February 8, 1973 and the couple had five children. Ed was the owner of Ed’s Repair. He worked at Tyson in Norfolk for 27 years as a refrigerator supervisor. Ed was a member of the American Legion Riders and the MGD Team. He enjoyed being outside hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He loved to cook, collect rocks, tools, guns, and watching the Weather Channel. In his free time processed deer and made jerky and was an avid Nebraska football fan. Ed’s CB name was Hillbillly. He loved his garage, his dog, and his country. Ed is survived by his wife, Starla DeMoss; sons, Patrick Ley Hays, Timothy Lynn Hays; daughters, DeLisa Mae Hays (Grimm), Jennifer Ann Barnes (DeMoss); sister, JoAnn Grimes, 23 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Michael A. Hays.
