Ella Mae Victor

Ella Mae (Neill) Victor, 92, of Emerson, NE passed away on Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Heritage of Emerson in Emerson, NE. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson; Pastor Bev Rautenberg-Panko will be officiating. The visitation will be Friday, April 5, 2019, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Emerson. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials may be directed to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home in Emerson.

Ella Mae was born December 14, 1926, in Winnebago, NE to James F. and Nellie (McQueen) Neill. She graduated from Walthill High School. After graduation, she attended Wayne Normal Training and taught country school.  Ella Mae married Arnold W. Victor on January 31, 1953, in Wakefield, NE. The couple lived west of Wayne for several years before returning to Emerson.  Ella worked as a CNA for the Emerson and Pender nursing homes after moving to town in 1975. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and doing crosswords. Ella Mae also enjoyed watching the Huskers, reading, sewing, and knitting. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for 51 years, and was a long time member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school for several years.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis (Kendra) Victor of Emerson, NE, Douglas (Lori) Victor of Rembrandt, IA; son-in-law, Ron (Patti) Skwarek of Omaha, NE; sisters, Joan Martin of Fremont, NE, Patricia Krueger of Emerson, NE, ten grandchildren, Angela (Dan) Marcum, Justin Victor, Derek (April) Victor, Brandon (Katie) Victor, Michael Victor, Cody Victor, Tony (Audra) Vanderhoff, Josie (Charles) Weier, Devan Barber, and Nathan (Taylor) Skwarek, and 17 great-grandchildren.

Ella Mae was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold Victor on March 28, 1993; son, Daniel Victor; daughter, Neldene Skwarek; brothers, Francis, Earl, James, George, Lee, John; sisters, Rose Rasmussen, Mabel Larson, Elizabeth Neill; and grandson, Christian Skwarek.
