Erwin E. Larson

Erwin E. Larson, 97, of Emerson, NE, passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the Pender Community Hospital. The visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson. The funeral will be on Tuesday, August 20, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Luke Lutheran Church in Emerson. The burial with Military Honors will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Emerson. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh-Smith Funeral Home. 

He was born to Earl and Olga (Kuhl) Larson on March 21, 1927. He married Molly Ann (Sebade) Larson on April 15, 1950, and they had two children, Bradley and Julie. 

Erwin was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, where he served on the council and was a Sunday School Teacher. He was a member of the American Legion Post 60 for 79 years, served on the school board at Emerson-Hubbard School, was the president of Northeast Nebraska Bankers Association, and the president of the 1st National Bank and Siouxland Bank. He enjoyed spending time with family and his furry companions.

Erwin was preceded in death by his wife, Molly Ann Larson; parents, Earl and Olga Larson; grandparents; and brother, Wilbur Larson.

He is survived by his son, Bradley (Sue) Larson of Savannah, MO; daughter, Julie (Steven) Jensen of Emerson, NE; grandchildren, Jeremy (Pearl) Larson of St. Joseph, MO, Sara and (Matt) Pochop of Battle Creek, NE, Brandon and (Jade) Jensen of Filley, NE, Kenny Gilbertson of Wayne, NE, and Ashley (Andrew) Legge of Omaha, NE; several great-grandchildren; sister Lois (Verlyn) Roeber of Emerson, NE; sister-in-law, Sandy Larson of South Sioux City, NE.
