Faye M Christiansen

Faye M. (Heyne) Christiansen, 85, of Pender, NE, died on Sunday, April 18, 2021 at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, NE.  Funeral services will be Friday, April 23, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Pender.  The visitation will be Thursday, April 22, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender.  Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery in Pender.  Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation.  Arrangements are under the direction of Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Pender.

Faye was born on May 3, 1935 in Pender, the daughter of Edward “Ted” and Laura (Mayberry) Heyne.  She attended District 2 country school until entering Junior High School and later graduated from Pender High School.  She attended Wayne State Teachers College, and taught school at District 40.  Faye was united in marriage to Kenneth Christiansen at St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on October 17, 1954.  To this union two daughters and two sons were born.  Faye was baptized and confirmed at John Huss Presbyterian Church.  She was a den mother, Boy Scout leader and a Girl Scout leader.  Kenny and Faye had three exchange students from South America.  She taught Sunday School, Bible School and sang in the choir at both churches.  She worked as a secretary at Stan Diehl’s insurance agency before going to Wayne State College.  Faye and Kenny enjoyed their winter at their home in Arizona, adding many new friends and many more sights to see in Arizona.

Faye enjoyed watching Nebraska Volleyball, and attending all the Nebraska Football games, where they found more new friends while tailgating and traveling to out of town games.  Kenny and Faye kept busy by taking many cruises, dancing every Friday night and taking many trips.  Faye enjoyed reading and coffee with the Pender – Bancroft girls and the PoPo’s morning group.  She belonged to Gamma Iota for over 60 years.

Faye leaves behind her children, Laureen (Dave) Whitney of Conway, AR, Sheryl (Alan) Anderson of Henderson, NV, Kevin (Julie) of Pender, NE and Harold (Julie) of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren, Jacob Whitney, Emily (JR) Hartle, Laura Whitney, Michael (Ryann) Pagels, Mandy (Jason) Deckler, Matthew (Aubery) Pagels, Ashley (Chris) Di Lorenzo, Adam (Katie) Christiansen, Danae Christiansen, Jason Christiansen, Amanda Christiansen, and great grandchildren: Kennedy, Spencer, Neil, Emersyn, Jof, Josephine, Raymond, Emma, Isabelle; and brother, Richard (Mary) Heyne of Pender, NE.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth.
