Glenda J. Potter, 84, of Pender, NE, formerly of Winnebago, NE died on Saturday, March 03, 2018 at Legacy Garden Rehabilitation and Living Center. Funeral services for Glenda will be held on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at the United Church of Pender; Pastor Steven Breazier will be officiating. The visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday and will run until the time of the service at the church. Burial will follow lunch at Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, NE. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Siouxland and the Pender Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department. Munderloh - Smith Funeral Home of Pender is in charge of the arrangements. Glenda was born on July 16, 1933, on the family farm near Homer, NE, the daughter of Nels Harold and Joyce (Martin) Nelsen. She attended and graduated from Winnebago High School in 1951. For a short time, Glenda worked as a nanny in Sioux City, IA for a family with a little girl. On November 22, 1951, she was united in marriage to Donald F. Potter at her home. The couple made their home on the family farm. The couple enjoyed traveling and attending music festivals. They once drove to Alaska on vacation. She enjoyed cooking, embroidering, sewing and gardening. Glenda also enjoyed adult coloring books and word find books. Donald passed away on August 13, 2015. She is survived by her son Ray (Pam) Potter of Thurston, NE, daughters Julie Dunn of Omaha, NE and Wanda Kleinschmit of Crofton, NE, five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Jan (Lonnie) Parrill and Sharon Rose and a brother Tim (Linda) Nelsen and a sister-in-law Mary Nelsen. Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, son-in-law Donovan Kleinschmit; brother, Richard “Dick” Nelsen, and sister-in-law’s Glora Mae (Al) Bentz and Hazel Sorensen.
