Harold "Butch" D. Bathke

Harold “Butch” Dean Bathke, 77, of Wakefield, NE, died on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at Faith Regional Medical Center in Norfolk, NE.  Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. at Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home in Wakefield; Pastor Patti Meyer will be officiating.  The visitation will be held on Friday, June 11, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Bressler – Munderloh – Smith Funeral Home of Wakefield.  Burial will be at a later date in the Wakefield Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. 

Butch was born on February 2, 1944 in Norfolk, NE, the son of Clarence and Twila (Hansen) Bathke.  He served in the United States Air Force from 1963 until 1967.  On April 22, 1971, he was united in marriage to Alice Werner.  He was a coast-to-coast truck driver for several years until his health forced him to retire.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Alice of Wakefield, NE; sons, Shane (Elaine) Bathke of Laurel, NE and Dean Bathke of Washington; sisters, Joyce Jensa Corcoran of Rock Springs, WY and Carol Kilgore of Lincoln, NE; brother, Tom (Donna) Bathke of Mt. Gilead, OH; grandchildren, Cole Bathke, Zachary Bathke, Anthony Bathke, Brittney Bathke, Paige Apel and Sean Plath.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Twila Bathke, son Andrew Bathke and a brother Larry Bathke.
